  2. This was my apartment in Yiyang, when I taught English at Hunan City University in 2007-2008. I loved that apartment. Though it was far below the standards of a home in America, in China it was considered very nice. The apartment itself was not so great but it was very near to the Chao Yang business district which made it convenient for shopping and transportation, plus it was on the Chao Yang campus, which is a beautiful clean and relatively safe place. There was a large pond near my apartment, visible from my bedroom, and gardens all around. The dining hall was nearby, with a little convenience store, and I had a lot of very helpful and friendly relationships with students and other teachers. The Chinese are freindly and helpful people. Two neighbors I especially loved were Chen Juan and her mother, who had a little white girl dog called 'Jump'. All three were frequent visitors at my house, and I ate many a meal at their table. I had Jump living with me for several weeks in May and June of 2008.
